We answer your questions about boat maintenance

How often should I have a complete inspection of my boat?

It’s recommended to have a general check-up at least once a year, especially before the sailing season.
If you sail frequently or undertake long voyages, it’s advisable to have additional checks done on the engine, electronic systems, and safety equipment.

What exactly does the tune-up include?

It includes everything necessary to ensure safe operation:

  • Engine diagnostics and programming
  • Checking levels, oils and filters
  • ITB inspection and safety elements
  • Electrical and electronic systems inspection (Radar, VHF, autopilot, marine audio)
  • Verification of propellers, tails and transmission
  • General inspection of the hull and structural elements

These services are part of the regular work of the multi-brand workshop of Náutica Mike.

Can the workshop work with any brand of engine?

Yes. We are a multi-brand workshop and we work with the main manufacturers:

  • Mercury
  • Mercruiser
  • Volvo Penta
  • Yanmar
  • Solé
  • Cummins

We have spare parts, diagnostic equipment and experience with all of them.

What happens if you find a fault during the review?

We’ll inform you immediately and give you repair or replacement options depending on the type of damage.
We always work with a prior estimate and complete transparency, indicating:

  • Cost of the piece
  • Labour
  • Estimated time

We never do work without your approval.

Can I request additional services during the review?

Yes, you can add any workshop service:

  • Paint and antifouling
  • Fiber and polyester work
  • Upholstery and canvas making
  • Installation of marine electronics
  • Installation of windmills, water treatment plants or air conditioners
  • Professional interior and exterior cleaning

Everything can be integrated into the same setup.

How long does the setup take?

It depends on the condition of the boat and the services required, but it is usually completed in 1 to 5 days .

If additional repairs or equipment installation are required, we will inform you of the estimated timeframe.

Do you also check the ITB and safety equipment?

Yes. We check the required elements and notify you if anything is missing:

  • Documentation
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Signaling
  • Vests
  • Pending reviews

We can also help you prepare your boat to pass the ITB inspection without any problems.

Can I leave my boat for servicing while it's in winter storage?

Yes. Many customers take advantage of the winter period to carry out check-ups and tune-ups.

This allows the boat to be ready to sail from the first day of the season.

Can I bring the boat without an appointment?

We recommend booking an appointment to ensure immediate availability and avoid waiting times.

In case of emergency, we will do everything possible to assist you.

What guarantees do I have after the inspection?

All our maintenance, installation and repair work comes with a professional guarantee depending on the type of service performed.

In addition, we will inform you of any further recommendations to keep the boat in perfect condition.

Do you need to have your boat checked before the season?

Request a complete tune-up and sail with total safety.
